Toftholmen
A study in materiality, proportion and architectural detailing, Toftholmen brings together a series of spaces shaped by natural materials, soft tonal transitions and carefully considered contrasts.
Throughout the residence, cabinetry is treated as an integral part of the architecture. In the kitchen, full-height panelled joinery follows the proportions of the room, while softly rounded corners temper its scale. A sculptural stone island forms the centre of the space, its expressive natural veining set against the restrained cabinetry and warm herringbone flooring. Natural light, filtered through full-height curtains, further softens the composition.

The material language continues through the more intimate spaces of the home. Beneath the sloping roof, pale oak cabinetry is set against the character of the original exposed beams, while skylights bring shifting daylight across the wood. In the bathrooms, natural stone basins and tactile surfaces introduce a more grounded expression, balanced by warm oak and darker metal details.

Different pieces from the BRANDT Copenhagen hardware collections were selected for each space, allowing the details to respond to their individual setting while maintaining a coherent language throughout the home. TERRACE in Satin Brass brings a refined warmth to the kitchen, while LEAF in Burnished Brass adds a darker, more sculptural accent to the walk-in cabinetry beneath the eaves. BUTTON in Burnished Brass appears on the entrance cabinetry, with TERRACE in Burnished Brass continuing into the bathrooms.
Rather than repeating one detail throughout, the project shows how variations in form and finish can subtly shift the character of a space while creating continuity across an interior.
